It's Only Just Begun!

Adam just finished his 4th and final Fantasy Football draft and commented, "There, ALL DONE!!" I told him, "Actually, IT'S ONLY JUST BEGUN!!" The games... most often two channels at a time. The computer time... checking scores, picking players. The cheering for the quarterback on one team and the wide receiver on another team... all the while wanting the running back to score because that is where "the points" are given.

You may be asking, why four different leagues? I ask myself the same question. The answer, I have a loyal husband. His mission league: We've been doing it since 2000. Friends league: I've got to be in the league with all my buddies. Two family leagues: Come on, it's family. What a guy!

New Shirt

Charlie was wearing this shirt when Adam got home from work a few weeks ago. He had a look on his face of total disbelief, like he wasn't there when it happened! It has taken a few weeks to let things sink in and we are officially thrilled! I am 9 weeks and my due date is March 27th. Excited. Nervous. Bloated. Tired. Blessed.

WARNING: He's not going in for a kiss

Charlie has always been a fan of putting things in his mouth. I thought it was all magnified by the fact that he was crawling and only a few inches from the floor, so naturally every piece of fuzz or dirt went straight to his mouth. Charlie is officially walking as of this week (yeah!) but his oral fixation has not stopped. The other day the little stinker actually started leaning in as I was holding him and he tried biting my eyelashes of all things! This post is a tribute to some of the things that have been in Charlie's mouth...
Christmas lights
feet
shoes
mini-blinds
toilet paper
sunblock
sand (by the handful)
I have had a few friends think it is so cute that Charlie goes charging for their child with his mouth open "trying to give a kiss!" At first I thought that was the case, but then I realized it was their head and hair he was interested in, not a kiss. He bites the fur on the fuzzy animal book we read and he does the same thing to his stuffed animals. What the heck... and poor Zachary!

Glen Ivy... every woman's fantasy!

While Em was in town we decided to have a girls day of pampering. So with the kiddos under the tender care of their daddy's, we were off to Glen Ivy Hot Springs. What an experience. We sat in a mineral bath hot tub, floated on rafts in a pool (arms linked the entire time), got painted with sea kelp, exfoliated in a mud bath, sunbathed, and took a long uninterrupted shower. We finished off the day with lunch and some shopping. Everyone decided that this will have to be an annual event! The Roman Spa.
Mud Bath
...until next year Glen Ivy, we'll be dreaming of you!

Sweet land of liberty...

We had a very fun-filled 4th of July weekend. It started with a family bike ride down to Main Street to watch the Independence Day Parade. Our sweet friends, the Hixson's, offered up their front yard and had a fabulous BBQ... so much fun!

Charlie started off riding with Gracie but he kept grabbing her pacifier and bopping her on the head so we decided to put him with sweet Zachy-boy. After that, Joshua and Grace rode together. Josh was nowhere near the age or weight requirement to be in a bike trailer but as Jen always says, by the time you have your third you just do what works!

Sweet Zachy-boy managed to fall fast asleep on the ride home, even with Charlie poking him the entire time.
Cute Alli was so proud to be on the big bike with her dad.
After all these years Jen still had the skills to ride with no hands.
Later that night we rode back down to watch the fireworks off the pier.

Aloha!

We just got back from a fabulous trip to Hawaii. We had so much fun hanging out with family and enjoying all Kauai had to offer. Adam and I went to Kauai on our honeymoon so this trip was a bit different with Charlie, but enjoyable nonetheless. Some of our favorite stops included Jo Jo's Shave Ice, the restaurant Hamura Saimin and their unique cuisine, and the melt in your mouth filet at Kintaro's that I have thought about since our honeymoon three years ago ... oh wait, we did do more than just eat while we were there! We loved the rope swing at Kipu Falls, hiking down to Wailua Falls, and snorkeling at Tunnels Beach. Charlie had a great time splashing in the ocean with with his cousin Reese and going on walks in the early morning with Momoo and Dadoo. We had such a fun time with everyone, thanks for such an enjoyable trip!

While we were there Adam turned a whopping 32 years old
...but despite his old age he is still hotter than ever!
Highlights from the week: We saw a shark one day while we were playing at the beach. Just so you know, it was much scarier than it looks!
Adam and I took Charlie for a walk one morning. While we were walking it started to pour gigantic drops of rain. We took cover under a tree and as soon as it started to clear up we saw this beautiful rainbow. I love special little moments like that!

After a fun-filled day at Tunnels Beach we stopped at Bubba Burger for a late lunch. There, Adam spotted the actor Rob Lowe. The funny thing is instead of getting a picture with him we asked him to take a picture of us. Nice photo Rob-dogg!!

Is there a TIGER in our house?

Yep, his name is Charlie! ...and toilet paper is his favorite snack.

Party like it's your birthday!!

Charlie had a fun birthday party splashing in the wading pools with his buddies, and he loved seeing all his family. He lucked out by having cake twice, once on his actual birthday and then again at his party. He enjoyed every minute eating that cake. I actually got distracted and when I looked back at Charlie I realized he had eaten almost all the cake. His belly was huge!!

Charlie is a bit exhausted from powering through all that cake. Check out that big belly.
