Catching up on some Z's.

This boy gets tugged and drug and lugged anywhere and everywhere.  School, soccer practice, ballet, swim lessons, grocery shopping, baseball practice, you name it, his naps have taken a back seat.  He usually doesn't seem to mind, but on this particular day he was exhausted.  Laying down in bed was just too much work.  Sweet dreams my angel baby.

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home...

...glad as I can be...

The squeals that come from these three when Dad walks in the door can be heard for miles.  He is their favorite playmate, best tickler, wrestler, body-slammer, and the reason why these kids love life... because Daddy makes it fun!
Happy Father's Day

"Fifty-nifty United States..."

Charlie had his patriotic concert at school and to say that it was impressive would be an understatement.  The music teacher is amazing.  He learned about 15 patriotic songs and each one had sign language to go with it.  He now knows all the "fifty-nifty" United States, all the US Presidents, and the names of famous inventors.  It was so adorable to see how much he loves to sing and how "into it" he was.  Way to go Charlie-boy.

Sweet grandma even came to partake in the patriotic night.

I left my heart in San Francisco.

My cousin Katie was getting married, so what a great excuse to take a little road trip to San Fran.
We all met up a Fisherman's Warf and spent the day sightseeing and walking the streets.
Ghirardelli square and the best $5 chocolate chip cookie of my life.
Saw these two random street performers while waiting in line for the trolley.
Love was in the air...
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Hans & Katie Spect.  It was such a fun night celebrating this beautiful couple.  Katie has always been a funny, kind, and gorgeous person on the inside and out. I am so happy she met her match and found true love.
The family.  (We missed you Steven and Melinda)
Adam, big pimpin.

Mimi Jones, the dancing queen.
Three generations: Aunt Cass, Mimi and Katers.
Cousins.
(A big thank you to Momoo and Dadoo for flying in from Vegas to take care of our kids.  We had such a fun weekend knowing that our kiddos were in good hands.)

Memorial Day 2013.

It was a great day, complete with some friendly track and field competition...
Charlie was a fierce competitor.
June ate donuts with her friends to recover from the emotional pressure of racing.
I was even suckered into competing... SHOELESS.

Adam Koch: the man, the myth, the legend.

The cutest sweaty boys on the planet.

The Koch Athletes.
The day was topped off by our ward BBQ at Lake park.  June rode these ponies the entire time we were there...  probably close to 20 times. It was a great day indeed.

Charlie-boy is 6.

"It's somebody's birthday... it's somebody's birthday
...it's CHARLIE
...it's CHARLIE
It's somebody's birthday... it's somebody's birthday
...it's CHARLIE
...it's CHARLIE!!"
This is one of those pictures that is worth a thousand words, it is full of so much JOY.  Charlie's birthday was on the same day Adam and I got home from our road trip to San Francisco.  Adams parents, who watched the kids while we were away, were flying to Hawaii as their reward to themselves for surviving a weekend with our crazies.  It just so happens that there is a Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles near LAX where we decided to meet to help celebrate the birthday boy.  Waffles for dinner, Charlie could not be happier.

The entire staff, full of many soul-brothers and soul-sisters got down, clapping away, with their very saucy happy birthday song.  Charlie. Loved. It.  What a great birthday celebration for such a cheerful dude.  Charlie is such a positive light in our family.  Each new day he comes downstairs with a giant smile on his face saying "Good morning!"  Charlie boy is an excellent reader, he has an artistic side, and he is a bit of a perfectionist.  Many of his school assignments have eraser marks all over them because he wants it to look just right.  The best part is, whenever Charlie makes a mistake his reply is "silly me,"  he probably says it about 10 times a day.  We love our sweet, cheerful Charlie-boy!
