...Mr. Blinky-blink needs glasses.
(Charlie got a very high fever a few years ago when we were on vacation in Colorado. He started blinking a ton and I just chalked it up to dry weather and being sick. Well, the relentless blinking never stopped. It has come and gone time and time again over the years. Every time he got tired or sick it would start up again and last for months. I asked the doctor about it at multiple appointments and they did not seem to be concerned, they said his eyes checked out fine and the blinking had just become a habit that someday he would outgrow. Well, when Charlie started Kindergarten his teacher asked me about his "ticking." I told her the whole story and that he did not have a "nervous tick" or turrets syndrome or anything of the sort. But Charlie's blinking was at an all-time high, especially when he started reading. I took him to the pediatrician and insisted on seeing an eye doctor. Sure enough, Charlie has an astigmatism in both eyes! Instead of squinting he was blinking to help see better. Poor guy. We will miss all the cute blinky-blinks he did day in and day out, but at least now our Charlie-boy can finally see.)
