FUN to be ONE!

It's hard to believe an entire year has come and gone and our buster boy is ONE! We cannot even imagine our lives without Charlie in it. He is full of smiles, all day, everyday... unless he is hungry, that is when he gets down to business! Charlie loves to rock out to music, he loves to dance when the radio is on or when one of his toys plays music. He also does this thing where he crinkles up his nose, sticks out his bottom teeth, and breathes in and out really hard, it's pretty cute. Charlie LOVES balls and he plays catch every morning and every night with his Daddy. What an amazing year it has been. Charlie is one of a kind and we feel very blessed to have such a sweet little boy in our family! Charlie's birthday started off with some pancakes drenched in syrup, what more could a boy who LOVES food want for his birthday?! After breakfast we went for a family bike ride to the ward Memorial Day picnic. Charlie had fun watching all the cars go by and he loved the wind blowing in his hair.
After the picnic, and NO NAP ALL DAY (Charlie knows how to party), we had the Menlove's and Grandma Graham over for a BBQ and some birthday cake. Charlie LOVED his cake and was even willing to share some with Daddy.

Charlie's first haircut

Charlie is known for his hair, whether at church, the doctor's office, or the grocery store, people always comment on Charlie's "DO". One of my favorites went something like this; "Hey, look at that kid's hair, he looks like he just got out of the dryer!" Well, the poofy, fluffy, cuteness was getting a bit out of control! Seeing this picture on my friend Jenny's blog made me decide it was time to give Charlie a haircut.

Let the haircutting begin! I actually cut most of it while Charlie was in the bathtub, he was so still sucking on one of his bath toys that I took advantage of the situation. Then I finished off by distracting him with what else... FOOD!!!!

A bruise, a ball, and some Cheerios.

It was so hot yesterday so we filled up the pool for Charlie to splash around in. At first the water was super cold so Charlie just sat there, but then he started getting brave. He stood up near the edge of the pool and held onto my knees while I was sitting there close to him. Faster than I could react Charlie slipped right between my legs and face-planted onto the concrete. Poor boy, he has a big ol' bruise on his noggin. It all happened while I was talking on the phone so when I got "the look" from Adam I determined, IT WAS ALL MY FAULT!!
The nice thing was, a whiffle ball and a few Cheerios later... Charlie was all better and back to his happy self!!

To Infinity, and BEYOOOND........

Adam gets Disneyland tickets from work each year so we decided to take advantage of some free food and fun. Since we got our season passes we have been going on the "kiddie" rides with Charlie and we are still figuring out if he enjoys staring at all the people MORE than going on the rides. The line for Buzz Lightyear was short so we decided to give it a try. We did not know what to expect and basically... I LOVE IT, it's my new favorite ride! There were two laser guns that you point at different targets and then points accumulate on a screen inside your cart. We had this picture emailed to us and I was cracking up. I am as serious as can be, in deep concentration and Adam is determined to get the high score, he even has one eye closed to help him "focus" on the bullseye. I am convinced that those scores are wrong, I think it might just be a standard background they use for all the pictures. Poor Charlie, who knows what is going through his head; but hey, at least his parents are having a blast!!

11 Months

We ended up with two different 11 month shots... the "Donald" photo and the "Lewis" photo. People are always commenting on Charlie's hair. His "faux-hawk" is getting longer and folding down a bit so Momoo Sherie titled it "Donald Trump hair." Then while we were at the doctor's office a few weeks ago the receptionist asked me if I had seen Meet the Robinsons, she said that Charlie looked identical to the main character "Lewis". What do you think?

Updates: Charlie is no longer taking a pacifier, those darn teeth got in the way. Our crazy man loves playing chase; he crawls as fast as those little legs can go and giggles while we try to get him. No signs of walking yet but Charile is pulling himself up on everything. He freaks out though if he loses his balance and falls, hopefully he will toughen up and not be too overly sensitive. Charlie is also into clapping ang waving at people... our little social butterfly.

One word... FUN

We have had a very eventful few weeks. Charlie had a virus, then we both got the stomach flu, then a sinus cold, and now the poor guy has two teeth coming in. So between all the pain and suffering we decided to have a little fun. Charlie beams when Adam takes him on a wagon ride. Together they walk to the mailbox and occasionally pick up a friend or two along the way.
This is Charlie's favorite time of night (aside from getting his bottle or his dinner), that smile stays on his face the entire ride.

We met up with Fernanda and Andreana at the Santa Ana Zoo... it was great.
Andreana and Charlie loved looking at all the animals... well, most of the time. We tried to get them to watch the monkey's swing from the trees but these crazy kids were too interested in a bush that was blowing in the wind.

Charlie and Emmy were so excited to go to Disneyland together. This was Charlie's first trip of many-we got a season pass. He was glad Emmy could be there to hold his hand on all the scary rides.

Cousin Joshua, nurse Zachy, and "Charlos"

Alli loves taking care of Charlie and being the big cousin. From the time he was a baby she would stand about an inch from his face and say, "Hi my sweet cousin!" Even after Jen came home from the hospital Alli would call Joshua "sweet cousin!" I am pretty sure now she has learned to call him her brother.

We were hanging out at the Menlove's a few weekends ago and I heard the funniest, cutest conversation as the kids were in the playroom.

Alli: "Okay, Zachy, you be the doctor."

Zachy: "No, I want to be the nurse."

Alli: "Okay, I'm the doctor and you're the nurse Zachy."

Zach: "Otay!" (while holding Mr. Cuddles and sucking his thumb)

Alli: "Charlie can be sick... Charlie boy, come over here."

Alli: "CHARLOS, CHARLOS, come and play doctor."

10 months

This picture says it all! Charlie is a total wiggle-worm, crawling all over the place and climbing up on everything. He is the happiest kid around. He loves going on wagon rides to get the mail with dad. He actually said "Dada" while Adam was out of town but we have not heard him say it since then. Our boy has 8 teeth and more on the way and his favorite thing now is blowing raspberries with all his excess drool.

Happy Easter!

We had a great time in Vegas over the Easter weekend. Charlie loved being with all his cousins. This picture of Reese, Clara, Audrey, and Charlie on the hammock shows how much fun he had.The big line-up for the Easter egg hunt.
Hailey was such a big help, she fed and played with Charlie every second she got.
After church on Sunday we went outside to take a few pictures. Charlie and Reese just wanted to play with Daisy... actually, Reese wanted to hug and kiss Daisy and Charlie wanted to eat her fur. My cute boys!

What's wrong with this picture? Easter Sunday family picture. Charlie and his Easter basket. He loved all the goodies the Easter bunny brought. He especially loved the "cat toys" and plastic squeaky chicken... sadly, the church books were his least favorite. We hope everyone had a great Easter... we sure did!

My favorite holiday...

...for one reason, I get to perform my Irish jig!! This post is for all my friends and family that I cannot be with in person this year. Adam is going to kill me.
