Memorial Day 2013.

It was a great day, complete with some friendly track and field competition...
Charlie was a fierce competitor.
June ate donuts with her friends to recover from the emotional pressure of racing.
I was even suckered into competing... SHOELESS.

Adam Koch: the man, the myth, the legend.

The cutest sweaty boys on the planet.

The Koch Athletes.
The day was topped off by our ward BBQ at Lake park.  June rode these ponies the entire time we were there...  probably close to 20 times. It was a great day indeed.

Charlie-boy is 6.

"It's somebody's birthday... it's somebody's birthday
...it's CHARLIE
...it's CHARLIE
It's somebody's birthday... it's somebody's birthday
...it's CHARLIE
...it's CHARLIE!!"
This is one of those pictures that is worth a thousand words, it is full of so much JOY.  Charlie's birthday was on the same day Adam and I got home from our road trip to San Francisco.  Adams parents, who watched the kids while we were away, were flying to Hawaii as their reward to themselves for surviving a weekend with our crazies.  It just so happens that there is a Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles near LAX where we decided to meet to help celebrate the birthday boy.  Waffles for dinner, Charlie could not be happier.

The entire staff, full of many soul-brothers and soul-sisters got down, clapping away, with their very saucy happy birthday song.  Charlie. Loved. It.  What a great birthday celebration for such a cheerful dude.  Charlie is such a positive light in our family.  Each new day he comes downstairs with a giant smile on his face saying "Good morning!"  Charlie boy is an excellent reader, he has an artistic side, and he is a bit of a perfectionist.  Many of his school assignments have eraser marks all over them because he wants it to look just right.  The best part is, whenever Charlie makes a mistake his reply is "silly me,"  he probably says it about 10 times a day.  We love our sweet, cheerful Charlie-boy!

"Mother, I love you, Mother I do...

Father in Heaven has sent me to you."
This sweet primary song reminds me of the beautiful children God has sent me.  It is a great responsibility to try and not "mess them up."   They are here to help me, to teach me patience, selflessness, sacrifice and joy.  I love being their mama.

Go Giants!

Charlie had a fantastic baseball season.

Coach Eric was very nice and patient with the boys.

The first half of the season they did T-ball and the second half they did coaches pitch.  Charlie loved smacking the ball just like daddy does.
Mrs. Alvarez, Charlie's kindergarten teacher asked for a game day schedule and surprised Charlie by showing up at one of his games.  That was a happy day!

Charlie got the game ball twice during the season, he was proud to say the least.

His favorite position was CATCHER. His second favorite position was first base.  (Both positions that have the most acting in a very slow-moving game.)
A very fun season indeed. Go GIANTS!
