Birthday girl.

It is hard to believe that my Junie girl is a year old. She has added so much love and spunk to our home. She really is a ham. This girl chuckles all day at just about anything, but usually herself. She will shake her head up and down, then snort, then chuckles and snorts again. She will get into mischief by darting up stairs or into the bedroom when Charlie is taking a nap, all the while knowing she is being naughty. She adores her big brother and laughs at anything he does. June-bug gives the sweetest kisses and has the cutest toothy grin. Happy birthday buggie.

Escargot anyone?

I was playing outside with the kiddos the other day and looked over to see that June had some dirt around her mouth and something in her hand. I went over and cleared something out of her mouth and then saw she was holding a snail. I even saw the two little antlers peeking up a me. DISGUSTING. I grabbed it from her hand and chucked that thing so far. I probably should have examined things further to see if she took a bite or not, then again, it's probably better if I never know.

The Irish Jig.

So, if this is your first year joining us for the jig, here's the history... I must have learned the jig in elementary school but I have no recollection as to where or when. All I know is that with a tune so catchy, it was ingrained in my mind forever. Growing up, my family had me "perform" it every year on St. Patrick's Day. When I got married SOMEONE did not find the humor in my famous jig. So I did what most respectful wives would do... I posted in on our blog http://kochomo.blogspot.com/2008/03/my-favorite-holiday.html Then last year I was 9 months pregnant so I had to do it again http://kochomo.blogspot.com/2009/03/jiggity-jig.html Now, it's tradition. Humiliation you ask? No such thing for me. My poised, sensible, husband on the other hand, he gets embarrassed by it all... which is why I continue to do it! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.
