2 months.

Little Charlie is two months old now. Actually, it's more like "not so little Charlie." We have his two month appointment next week so I am not sure about his height and weight. Adam got on the scale with him the other day and we are guessing he is over 12 pounds. He has been so much fun. He is finding his voice and starting to coo and smile. He still eats like a mad-man and I do not think that will lighten up any time soon. He has taken on a few nicknames including: tank and buddy-boy. He is constantly moving and kicking. My sister Emily said it perfectly; "It's like Charlie is a grown boy trying to get out of a baby's body!" Also, I ran into my neighbor the other day. Being in an apartment complex I was wondering if she could hear Charlie each time he cried. She politely told me "Not usually, but wow, Charlie sure does have a STRONG cry!" Basically, there is nothing dainty about our sweet boy, when he is mad, he's MAD!!! ... and it is usually because he is hungry.

Happy 80th Mimi.

Talk about a funny picture! I figured since Mimi's 80th birthday bash was this weekend, I should post my favorite pictures of her. These were taken last year at the Toffoli's New Year's Eve party. Here, Mimi is teaching Adam and Ben how to "get their freak on." It was a wild and crazy night, so wild that Adam and I had to drive Mimi home. She must have just been exhausted from all that dancing! One HAPPY lady!!!!!!

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Last week we flew out to Colorado and met up with family for a little vacation. We had such a great time hanging out with everyone and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Here are a few highlights from our trip.

One of the kids got these glasses at the 4th of July parade. They were a big hit all weekend. We even had to set the timer so each of the kids could have a turn wearing them. Good thing Charlie got his turn.

Daddy and Charlie fishing together.

This cracks me up. Dave and Bradley are in the background smacking a fish, trying to put it out of its misery. Mason is freaking out about the whole thing.

We went fishing in a nearby lake. Our brother-in-law Tom was the fishing expert so he took the time to set up all the fishing gear. Funny thing though, the fish were not interested in the worms and other bait so we started hooking goldfish crackers and baby dissolvable treats (a.k.a. yum-yums) onto the line. Well, Bradley, Audrey, and Mason each caught a fish this way.

We went to a rodeo for the 4th of July. We watched barrel races and bull rides, it was a ton of fun. Then, after the rodeo was over we saw an awesome fireworks show. Charlie slept through almost the entire thing. During the grand-finale he jumped a little bit and I swear I felt an explosion in his diaper.

A day at the beach.

On Friday Charlie and I met up with Auntie Robin and the rest of the Merkley clan at the beach. It was such a beautiful day! Robin and I sat in the sun and chit-chatted while the kids hung out in the water and Charlie napped. I decided that we need to take advantage of living so close to the beach... it had been way too long since I was last there. We had a great time. My cousin Andy adores little Charlie. They actually look a bit alike, it must be those cute cheeks.
