Christmas at Grandma's house.

We celebrated Christmas with our cousins since everyone was not going to be around on Christmas day.  We decorated cookies,
ate dinner,
opened presents,

  then we were all honored to watch the cousins perform the nativity.  This was a very special performance directed by Allison Menlove (no parent help involved).  Below we have Mary and Joseph
a shepherd and a shirtless baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes, laying in a manger.

Ward Christmas Party.

Stars were Gleaming

Stars were gleaming, shepherds dreaming;
And the night was dark and chill.
Angels' story rang with glory;
Shepherds heard it on the hill.
Ah, that singing! Hear it ringing,
Earthward winging, Christmas bringing!
Hearken! We can hear it still!

See the clearness and the nearness
Of the blessed Christmas star,
Leading, guiding; wise men riding
Through the desert dark and far.
Lovely showing, shining, growing,
Onward going, gleaming, glowing,
Leading still, our Christmas star!

Breakfast with Santa.

This was our first year going to "Breakfast with Santa."  There were some highs:
Donuts for breakfast

Riding the surfboard
Hanging with friends
Arts and crafts
...and some lows:
Seeing Santa!

Live Nativity.

One of our favorite Christmas tradidions is going to First Christian Church and walking through the live nativity.  The kids are always in awe at the reinactment of the events leading up to the Savior's birth.  There is such a sweet spirit amidst the chaos when we see the kids taking in the true meaing of Christmas.
