Pismo Beach

The Koch's went on their first family camping trip. It was a short trip with a ton of gear and a long sleepless night but overall it was a success! Thanks to the Menlove's and their friends the Ford's we had a ton of fun. Charlie loved playing in the dirt and being with is cousins, June was happy checking out her new surroundings, and Adam and I enjoyed the company of our BFF's.
We took all the kids on a walk to the Nature Center but we ended up getting lost. Everyone was singing and so happy in this picture but by the end of our walk they were SO over it!
"Look at the sun illuminating the waves, it's so inspiring for Bella Notte."
The beach was actually freezing and super windy. Alli, Zach and Tyler braved the water while Charlie sat back and enjoyed some snacks.

Foil dinners were a hit thanks to all the big helpers. Alli did not believe me when I told her we were going to be cooking our dinner in the fire... she thought that was pretty cool.

Looks like June had a peaceful night sleep right? WRONG! Right around bedtime her love for camping came to a screeching halt... so did mine. It was a long night.

Alli was cracking me up. You can see she has a glow-stick in her hands. Well, she kept playing with it and sticking it in her nose. Then she went to bed and after only a few minutes of being in the tent Alli came out all disturbed. She bit the glow-stick and it had gushed out all over her. Jen went to make sure she was okay and when I walked over to them Alli's face was totally glowing in the dark. I had tears from laughing so hard.

Did you bring an exersaucer for June to sit while you guys were camping? Maybe she doesn't like to sit in one anyways, but I've learned never to go camping with a baby without one. And we camp A LOT.

Awww, the words "Pismo Beach" bring back some fond family trailor camping memories! Alli sounds so funny. The glow stick story is hilarious. And yes, camping with babies is not exactly my idea of fun. I'm glad you braved it out!

You guys were good sports! We had a ton of fun with you. Maybe next year we could make a week of it. Foil dinners every night!!
