TWO... years and months.

2 years old.

Charlie had a great birthday. We celebrated by going to breakfast and getting pancakes with his friends Emmy, Luke, and Delaney. Then we brought cupcakes to park-day and Charlie played with his buddies there. We hit up McDonald's for dinner. Adam and I sat across from Charlie and laughed as he devoured his french fries, nuggets and chocolate milk. He was in heaven. Hard to believe our boy is two. He is such a happy guy. He LOVES Mickey Mouse, baseball, basketball and going to the park. He can count to thirteen, he repeats anything we say, and he still does not climb out of his toddler bed in the morning. It is a great way to start each day with our buddy-boy yelling "Maaaa-meee, Daaa-deee!" Charlie's infectious smile just melts my heart, it reminds me everyday to find joy in the little things. We love you Char-Char, happy birthday!

The terrible two's have begun. This was the injury that occurred after Mommy asked Charlie to sit down in his chair so it wouldn't tip over. Obviously, he didn't listen.
2 months old.
June-bug is two months old today. We had a talk at the beginning of the month and I told her it was time to start lovin' life! She listened and began smiling and cooing. She used to just eat, sleep, and cry. Now she eats, sleeps, cries, and smiles. Poor lady, she is still trying to figure out this great big world. Each day the happy, content moments get a bit longer. She has even gone a few 6-7 hour stretches of sleep at night. I wish I could hold her all day, I sure do love making her smile and having her fall asleep in my arms.

Father-Son Campout.

Charlie's first campout with his daddy was a big hit!
He LOVED eating hotdogs for dinner...sitting around the campfire in his chair...

roasting marshmallows and making smores...
and hanging out with his buddy Luke, and Mickey too!

Surprise...I am 21!!

I have the sweetest husband! Last weekend he threw me a surprise party for my birthday... I am a whopping 30 years young. It was so thoughtful, I have never been so shocked and surprised in my entire life. I feel so LOVED! Funny thing, I had a dream the other night. I was at the grocery store and the the kids were acting out big time. This old man looks at me in total disgust, like this lady needs to get a handle on her kids. Then he asked "What, are you like 21?" as if only someone so young and immature would not be able to handle her children. I proudly responded, "Nooo! I'm THIRTY!!!!" It was as if I had it all under control and how dare he insult me and ask if I was only 21. Then I woke up... to a screaming baby... and I was still 30, not 21...!

Maui

Nothing quite like a "family reunion" in HAWAII of all places. This trip has been in the works for over a year. The plan was to have all the Koch kids and their spouses meet in Hawaii for a week of family fun. Well, I got pregnant and since my due date was so close to the trip date we decided not to go. Then, a few weeks ago, the plan changed... My mom and sister offered to take Charlie for the week and we decided that traveling with a newborn was WAY easier than with a toddler. So we were off... Here's the gang (Ginger, Taylor, and Julie - we missed you guys.)
What a wonderful trip. It was so great to spend time with family in such a beautiful place. This is the view from our hotel balcony.
We took a day trip and drove the Hana Highway with everyone. We stopped for some banana bread along the way, splashed around in some "pools", and checked out the breathtaking scenery.

Don't be fooled, I am not that tough! This jump took place after a good 10-15 minutes of coaxing. I am really wimping out in my old age.
It was awesome to see Adam so happy spending time with his brothers. It was one sarcastic comment after the next, but lots of brotherly love!

June was a trooper. She slept on the plane, hung out in style at the pool (see above picture), and cried like a newborn at night. The best part was she was able to meet her older, wiser cousins Shea (4 months) and Clare (5 months). I had to laugh because I figured this is probably the only time in June's life that she will be smaller and weigh less than either of them!
The three little ladies taking in the chill aloha spirit in their Hawaiian dresses.
We went to a magic show one night. I was thinking, isn't that something you do in Vegas, not Hawaii? But it ended up being so cool, it was more of a comedy show. The magician was so entertaining and witty. For sure a night to remember!
Thanks again to our babysitters Michael and Tom!
The nursing mothers feeding their young.
One morning the more adventurous crew went on a bike ride along the outside of a volcano.
Adam saw this house along the way and said he would buy it for me someday. Yeeeees!
Our constant entertainment... Mikey!
Until next time Hawaii... "Cry for the fishes, cry for the sea..."
