Party time.
Charlie had a blast with his friends at Emmy's Halloween party. As you can see though, no one was in the mood for a picture!
2nd Annual Haunted House Decorating Party
Thanks to the Lombardi's, we enjoyed a fabulous night full of soups, desserts, and some serious haunted house competition! Charlie had fun playing (and eating) with his buddies.
Here is proof, Mr. Congeniality has his "off "days!
Such troopers... the BYU game and the Angel's playoff game were both on during the party and these guys managed to get in some quality family time.
All the kids had such a great time together. They loved eating soup at the picnic table and pushing each other on the swing. Reagan and Charlie kept taking turns being the "pusher" and the "swinger."
Here are the miniature party animals. June, Easton, and Brinley were all decked out in their holiday attire so of course we had to have a mini photo shoot.
Let the competition begin...
In first place we have the Blad's intricate, architectural masterpiece. Second place, the Koch's one story turned two (thanks Ryan) M&M extravaganza. Third place, the Lombardi's candy corn castle. And honorable mention goes to the Ebmeyer's mansion turned shack via the car ride.
"One for the haunted house... one for Charlie... one for the house... one for Charlie..."
The final product. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!

Halloween week...

7 months
What a big girl! Sweet Junie has been such a love-bug lately. Now that she is over thrush (and nursing) and she no longer has a bladder infection she is one happy camper! Just the other day Adam and I were commenting on how easy June is to console, as the song goes "all she needs is love." June has been rolling all over the place, she tries to scoot around but quickly gives up and rolls to her desired destination. She has also been saying "da-da" like crazy, maybe it's because I have had a Mr. Mom around or maybe we have a daddy's girl on our hands. This little one is chunking up big time thanks to aggressive eating habits... she's tried nearly every fruit and vegetable out there and she LOVES THEM ALL! At her check-up a few weeks ago she was 17.7 pounds and 26.5 inches (75th percentile). Her two bottom teeth have made their debut... finally. I say that because she has drooled like crazy since she was just a couple months old. I would always tell Adam that I thought she was teething and four months later she finally is! The funniest thing June has started doing is making this crazy sound when she wants attention, we call it her "cackle."

The Miramar Air Show
Every year the Miramar Air Station puts on an air show for the public. For those Tom Cruise fanatics, like Adam, this is "where they filmed the greatest movie of all time," Top Gun! The highlight was the Navy Blue Angels, "not quite what the Thunderbirds of Nellis AFB in Las Vegas were" (Adam again), but still pretty impressive. Here's a few pics of the day:

Tanaka Farms
Oh what an exciting day! It started off with a bus ride. Charlie was so excited, he giggled the entire way. We sang "Wheels on the Bus" and Charlie was in heaven. June stayed at home so it was an extra special day with mommy, but really Charlie just hung out with his buddies Grant and Logan!
Here is the entire "mommy-and-me" preschool class... my boy sure knows how to ham it up, I wonder where he gets it?!
(I was so excited to dress Charlie in his overalls and rain boots, my little farmer-boy!) The kids LOVED...
the LLAMA
picking RADISHES...
picking CARROTS (and beans and onions too)...
but the best part was picking a PUMPKIN!
Look at the sheer joy on Logan and Charlie's faces, they were so proud to carry their very own pumpkins!
The day ended with a tractor ride back to the bus. We went home and ate the veggies for dinner that night... Charlie thought that was super cool!

A love affair.
I LOVE the fall and I especially LOVE Halloween, it's right up there with St. Patrick's Day and April Fools Day in my book. I LOVE thinking of and creating a clever family costume each year. My mind has been spinning over what to be for Halloween. It usually starts with finding a cute costume for the kids and then going from there. My wheels are turning and I have even lost a bit of sleep over this, but I think I finally came up with something... and it's going to be good! (to be continued)
As I was looking back at our past costumes I thought it was both funny and fitting that they all included FOOD of some sort!
